A Message of Faith, Hope and Remembrance — October 2026

As October draws to a close and we look ahead to November, we are invited to pause and reflect on the many blessings in our lives and the enduring hope we find in our faith. The Church begins November by celebrating All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day , reminding us that we are part of a loving community that extends beyond our earthly lives.

We give thanks for the saints who inspire us through their examples of holiness and remember with prayer and gratitude the family members, friends, and loved ones who have gone before us.

The coming month also brings the solemn observance of Remembrance Day , when we honour those who made sacrifices in service to others and pray for peace in our world. Their courage challenges us to become peacemakers in our homes, schools, parishes, and communities.

As Catholic parents, we are the first teachers of faith for our children. Through prayer, acts of kindness, participation in the sacraments, and service to others, we help our children encounter Christ in their daily lives. In a world that often moves quickly, the season ahead offers us an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and place our trust in God's loving presence.

May the coming month be a time of prayer, gratitude, and hope for you and your family. Let us continue to work together to nurture the spiritual growth of our children and strengthen the partnership between home, school, and parish.

"For we walk by faith, not by sight." (2 Corinthians 5:7)

May God bless you and your loved ones throughout the season ahead.

In faith and partnership,

OAPCE
